Casual Community Transport Driver

Casual drivers required to work casually as and when required.

Hourly rate of £9.94

Elmbridge Community Support Services provides a wide range of services for seven Centres for the Community, a Relief Carer’s Scheme providing specialist day care, a seven day a week Meals on Wheels service and our Community Transport directly supports these services on a daily basis or provides cover and backup as required.

The Community Transport team transports older people with a mobility problem using a fleet of accessible vehicles to Centres for the Community, older people’s clubs, specialist day care services and provides a Dial-a-Ride, Hire-a-Bus and Community Cab service.  In addition, we are operating patient transport contracts and will be looking to covering leave and holiday.  With respect to the patient transport contract, you will be transporting patients from addresses in Surrey to Surrey hospitals.

Casual drivers are required who could work on a sessional basis, potentially two to three hours or on a daily basis which could be up to a 10-hour day.  The post holder must be prepared to work flexibly. There may be a requirement to drive the Meals on Wheels vehicle providing holiday cover. 

The post holder must hold a D1 licence, have a responsible and caring attitude as well as having experience of driving accessible or larger vehicles. The post holder must be willing to undertake a DBS Disclosure and complete all bespoke training.
